All England Open Badminton Championships – 2024
This week at the Arena Birmingham in Birmingham, top Indian shuttlers will resume competition in the 116th All England Open Badminton Championships, which is part of the European leg of the 2024 BWF World Tour. The BWF Super 1000 competition will begin on Tuesday, March 12, and Wednesday, March 13. Then, on the following days, there will be matches in the second round, quarterfinal, and semifinal, and on Sunday, March 17, the crucial final.
Total of 64 single participants and 96 teams, including Olympic and world champions, will compete in the Yonex All England Open 2024. Since the All England Open began in 1899, just two Indians have emerged victorious.
After winning the French Open championship on Sunday (March 10), the in-form duo of Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty, along with the other six singles and four doubles pairs from India this year, will try to increase their total.
The six Indians competing in singles are PV Sindhu, Aakarshi Kashyap, Priyanshu Rajawat, HS Prannoy, Lakshya Sen, and Kidambi Srikanth. In doubles, the Indians are represented by Satwik-Chirag, Tanish Crasto-Ashwini Ponnappa, Panda sisters, and Treesa Jolly-Gayathri Gopichand.
At the All England Open Badminton Championships in 2024, where talents from all over the world will compete, including Tai Tzu Ting, Akane Yamaguchi, and Viktor Axelsen, the Satwik-Chirag combo and Prannoy are the only Indians to be seeded.
