Shocking Cash Rewards Announced for Indian Paralympic Badminton Heroes – You Won’t Believe How Much!
The Badminton Association of India (BAI), led by Assam’s Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, just made history by honoring India’s para-shuttlers from the Paris Paralympics 2024 with a jaw-dropping reward of INR 50 lakh! After a stellar performance, where India secured an unprecedented five medals – including one gold, two silver, and two bronze – BAI is celebrating their victory in a big way.
Nitesh Kumar, who claimed the gold in men’s singles SL3, will receive a staggering INR 15 lakh! The silver medalists, Suhas Yathiraj and Thulasimathi Murugesan, are being rewarded with INR 10 lakh each, while bronze winners Manisha Ramadass and Nithya Sre Sivan will take home INR 7.5 lakh apiece.
This triumph also marks a milestone as Thulasimathi, Manisha, and Nithya made history by becoming the first Indian women to ever secure medals in badminton at the Paralympics.
BAI Secretary General Sanjay Mishra remarked, “Indian para-badminton players are consistently making us proud, and these rewards are a reflection of our gratitude for their dedication and hard work.”
The BAI is also planning a virtual interaction session with the athletes to further support their journey to even greater heights.
